William Davis Taken In Death

HILLSBORO -- Willis Irvin Davis, 69, Hillsboro, passed away Sunday morning at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born in Jefferson County September 27, 1901, the son of R. M. and Lillian Ramey Davis. He was married to Ruby Watson at Ottumwa February 24, 1926.

Mr. Davis was a retired carpenter and a member of the Christian Church. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Betty Thornton, Mount Pleasant; Mrs. Gerald (Norma) Manley, Fairfield; and Mrs. David (Erma) Brombaugh of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, two brothers, H. O. Davis, Revere, Mo.; and B. O. Davis of Irvington, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. O. A. DeGood and Mrs. Nels Stephens, both of Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at Big Cedar Christian Church east of Stockport, in charge of the Rev. Chester Werft. Interment will be in Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call at the Beatty-Jennings Funeral Chapel in Salem.
