Robert Raymond Bowermaster

NEW LONDON --- The service for Robert Raymond Bowermaster, 73, of New London, formerly of Fairfield, who died at 12:26 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 1994, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Sam Pendergast officiating. Burial with military rites by VFW Post 7641, will be in Burge Cemetery at New London. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral chapel. A memorial has been established to Boys Town.

Bowermaster was born March 23, 1921, in Fairfield, the son of Fred and Nellie Lamansky Bowermaster. He married Maxine Linn on December 4, 1948 in Keosauqua. He later married Idella Landes on July 8, 1988. She died Feb. 28. 1989. He was a mechanic and managed the Co-Ed Theater in Fairfield. He served in the Navy in World War II and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield and VFW Post 7641 in New London.

Surviving are four sons, Ray of Martinsburg, Lance with the U. S. Army in Germany, Nick of Fairfield, Bill of Richland; two daughters, Lori Van Blaricome and Bert Bowman, both of Fairfield; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Harris of San Diego, Calif. A sister, Evelyn preceded him in death.
