Victor Calhoun Sr.

Victor CALHOUN Sr., 84, Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, May 23, 1992, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.

He was born Feb. 14, 1908, south of New London, the son of Jessie and Sadie HAWKINS CALHOUN. On Jan. 28, 1927, in Maryville, Kan., he married May Ellen MANNING.

He was a farmer

Survivors include two sons, Victor CALHOUN Jr. and Edmond CALHOUN, both of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Martha Whaley, Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Ernest CALHOUN, Rome; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Glen and Leonard CALHOUN.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey Crawford officiating. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the care center.

Beatty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
