DROWNED.
A sad case of drowning occurred, last Sunday forenoon, in Big Creek, about two miles from this city. Edward A. Lindberg, aged fifteen years, with other boys, was in the water bathing, when the accident happened. Efforts were made by those present to rescue him, but in vain. The end had come. The body was not recovered until the next day. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, and always lived here except a short time on a farm near by. He was a large, strong boy of his age, and well equipped to help his mother in her efforts to support a family of six children. Mr. Lindberg is in the asylum, which makes the blow all the harder to bear.

His parents are members of the Sweedish [sic] Luthren church, in which all the children have been christened, and of whose Sunday school they are all members. He was fond of music and singing, his favorite hymns being, "Jesus lover of my soul", and "Pass me not O Gentle Saviour." Both of these hymns were sung at the funeral, which took place at five o'clock Monday, June 17. He was laid away to rest in the old cemetery. The family certainly have the sympathy of the whole community.
