Axel A. Nelson, 84, Swedesburg, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Parkview Home at Wayland. He was born July 19, 1892 at Falebo, Kristdala, Sweden, the son of Nels Peter and Khristina Swenson Nelson. Mr. Nelson never married. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Swedesburg Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Albin (Hilma) Swenson of Mt. Pleasant, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, at 2 p.m. from the Swedesburg Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Delmar Carstens, pastor of the church, music was by organist, Mrs. Robert Johnson and a duet by Arnold Lindeen and Vincent Lindeen. Casket bearers were Melvin Bergstrom, Vincent Lindeen, Arnold Lindeen, Virgil Lindeen, Arvid H. Anderson and Gary L. Anderson. Interment in the Swedesburg Lutheran Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Beatty-Jennings Funeral Chapel, Mt. Pleasant.
