Opal H. Hult, 92 of Swedesburg Iowa, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a short illness.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Swedesburg Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friend from 6-8 in the evening. A memorial in the name of Opal H. Hult has been established to the Marion Avenue Baptist Church.
Opal was born November 7, 1915 in Swedesburg, Iowa the daughter of Eddie Albert and Pearly Dew Drop (Hixson) Seberg. She was united in marriage to Frederick T. Hult, June 5, 1937 in Swedesburg, Iowa.
She was an active member of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington. Opal did the bulletin board ministry for twenty-five years at the church. As a young girl she was pianist at the Finley Chapel, organist at Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church and Independent Bible Church in Wayland. Opal enjoyed decorating for ladies conferences, banquets, and plays, especially the Christmas pageant. She traveled extensively and helped design jewelry in the Lapidary Business with her husband.
Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Johnson and husband Donald of Cambridge, IL, Shirley Coberley and husband Dennis of Wayland, IA, Rebecca "Becky" Henneberger and husband William of Alvarado, TX; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a great-grandson.
Beatty Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
