Fred Hedlund, 90, died at the Henry County Memorial Hospital Friday morning, November 26, 1971 at 8:30.

He was born March 7, 1881, in Henry County, Ia., the son of John P. and Margaret Freeman Hedlund. He lived in Henry County all of his life and in recent years moved to Swedesburg.

On September 20, 1905, he was married to Mary Claire who preceded him in death March 16, 1962.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Raymond Hedlund of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Gilbert (Florence) Bergstrom of route 5, Mt. Pleasant, Claire Hedlund of Ottumwa and Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Merringer of Ottumwa.

A daughter, Margaret, and a sister also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, in the Crane-Ewart-Young Funeral Home. Rev. Del Carstens, pastor of the Swedesburg Lutheran Church, will officiate.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Point Cemetery.

The body is at the Crane-Ewart-Young Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:30-4 p.m.
