Margaret Louise Carlson, 87, Swedesburg, died Friday, Nov. 1, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born July 10, 1904, at Swedesburg, the daughter of Oscar Victor and Elizabeth Amelia Johnson Abrahamson. On June 26, 1929, she married Rev. Edward J. Carlson, who died Nov. 29, 1965.

She was a 1921 graduate of Olds High School and a member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, church related organizations and the Olds American Legion Auxiliary.

Being a Lutheran pastor, the couple served parishes at Fort Dodge; and Cadillac, Ontongon and White Pine, Mich. After the reverand's death, Margaret moved back to Swedesburg where she cared for her father and aunt.

Survivors include a son, Edward Paul Carlson, Evanston, Ill; four grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Abrahamson, rural Winfield.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Marilyn Turkish; and two sisters, Pauline Abrahamson and Prudence Tolander.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Interment will be in the Swedesburg Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home, Winfield. A memorial to the church has been established.
