The cause of his death was consumption of the bowels. Mr. Bartlett had been in poor health for a number of years but his decline had been gradual for the past six months. His death was expected by his family and friends but it came suddenly and peacefully to the sufferer at the end.

Mr. Bartlett leaves a widow, with whom he had lived for forty eight years, and eight children, all of whom are living. The children are, George C. Bartlett, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Lillian Curtis, Poultney, Va.; Wilbur B., Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. Ella Simmons, Arvada, Colo.; Miss Susie B., Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. W.H. Zaizer, Mt. Pleasant; Walter M. Lovilla, Iowa, and Mrs. F. W. Marsh, Pensacola.

Mr. Bartlett had been an active and prominent member of the Methodist church since he became sixteen years of age, and in his death the church loses one of its best members. He was the class leader at the time of his death.

The funeral will take place from the Methodist church, in the audience room, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment will take place at Forest Home cemetery.
