DIED.
ANOTHER SOLDIER GONE.

Lyman L. Fluke, son of Lewis and Cyntha Fluke, was born in Grandville, Licking County, Ohio, on the 27th day of June 1842.

He died on the 19th of December, 1862, from a wound received by the accidental discharge of his own revolver while on picket duty. Lyman served three months in the First Regiment of Iowa Volunteers, and was one of those brave sons of Iowa, -- of whom we, as a State, shall ever be proud. -- who remained on the field after their term of service had expired, and fought one of the hardest battles, all things considered, of our present struggle.

He was among the first to enroll himself with the Fourth Cavalry, in which Regiment he served about fifteen months. We are happy to be permitted to quote the words of one of his fellow soldiers. "Last Sabbath evening he, Lyman, invited the Chaplain to our tent and had prayer meeting. We had a good meeting. The Preacher gave us great praise for our good behavior and attendance. Lyman was a good boy, beloved by every one. He was as brave a boy as ever was. He died like a Christian, and an American Soldier."
