Thomas W Eller Taken By Death

Thomas W. Eller, 70, died at Mercy hospital Burlington at 10:20 Sunday morning. He had been ill the last several years.

The son of Frank and Sarah (Hales) Eller, he was born March 30,1885 at Ottumwa. He was reared near Farmington and on May 22,1904 he and Alwilda Finn were married.

He was a farmer much of his life, homesteading in South Dakota where he engaged in farming and stock raising for 30 years.

In 1936 they moved to Mt. Pleasant and Mr. Eller worked as a salesman for the Des Moines Register and Tribune in the county.

He is survived by his wife and one son Merle, of Compton, Calif.; also by a brother, Omer Eller of Lincoln. Nebr., and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Spady, Imperial, Nebr., and Mrs. Goldie Day of Omaha, Nebr.

Services will be held in the Presbyterian church at 1 p.m. Wednesday and at the Center CHapel church in Van Buren county at 3 p.m. Burial will be at the cemetery at Center Chapel. The Rev. Owen W. Wilson will officate. The family will receive friends at the Crane Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 Tuesday evening.

Thomas was a great uncle by marriage. He died February 12,1956. This obituary was found in the Mt. Pleasant News evening addition on February 13,1956.
