Zuleika Louise (Zeke) Schenk age 87, Winfield, died Tuesday evening , July 17, 2001 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.
The daughter of Benjamin F and Myrtle I (Hupp) Babcock, she was born July 20, 1913 at Winfield. On July 30, 1931, she married Gilbert Lou Schenk at Winfield. He died January 2, 1967. She was a 1931 graduate of the Winfield High School.
She was a homemaker and care giver and worked as a bookeeper for her son-in-law, Benny Buffington at Fleagle Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of the Winfield church of the Open Bible.
Survivors include one son Benjamin Charles Schenk and on daughter Juanita Buffington, both of Winfield, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Jo Anne, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Friday July 20, 2001 at 10 A.M. from the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield with Rev. Greg Carr officiating. Interment followed at the winfield Scott Township Cemetery. Music was provived by Irene Hesseltine organist, and Debbie Carr Vocalist, Casket bearers were Paul Babcock, Alan Buffington, C.J. Dedic, and Ben Dedic.
Friends called Thursday from 10 A.M. untill 7 P.M. at the Honts Funeral Home. There was no family visiation.
A memorial has been established for the Winfield Open Bible Church.
