The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. E.N. Kitchen will regret to learn that Friday evening they received news of the death of their son, Clay Kitchen, in Colorado. They received a telegram from their daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hilsabock of Chicago stating that Clay had beeen injured the day before while working on the railroad at La Junta, Colorado and that he passed away without regaining consciousness. The telegram also stated that the funeral had been held.

The parents were anxious to learn some more particulars about the son's death and telegraphed immediately to the ticket agent at La Junta. A reply came this morning stating the the agent did not know anybody by the name of Clay Kitchen. It seems very probable Mr. Kitchen, who was a railroad man, might have been working on the road several miles from La Junta and that the ticket agent would thus know nothing about the accident. The relatives are, however, taking up the matter with the officials of the Santa Fe railroad so that it is expected more details will be forthcoming.

Mr. Kitchen was 40 years of age and leaves an immediate family of a wife and two sons. They made their home at La Junta. The last heard of Mr. Kitchen regarding his special work on the railroad was that he was conductor of an extra train crew on construction work.
