On July 23, 1980, Nellie Ersa Scarff Ericson, age 80, died July 23, 1890, at Lockridge, Jefferson County, IA. Funeral services held at the Weir Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant IA. Interment, White Oak Cemetery.

Nellie Ersa Scarff, the daughter of Edward L & Azuba Messer Scarff was born August 31, 1899 in Trenton Twp, Henry County, Iowa.

Survivors were her husband, Bernard Rex Ericson; children, Anna Mae Ericson Stutzman, Henry "Edward" Ericson, Betty Jane Ericson Barr, Leona Grace Ericson Thompson, Ralph Thomas Ericson, Evelyn Bernice Ericson Wieter and Donna Rose Ericson Luzadder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward L. & Azuba Ann Messer Scarff, Max William, Fred Maurice, Bernard Rex Jr, Helen Lucille and one stillborn daughter.

On July 3, 1917, Nellie Ersa Scarff, age 17, married Bernard Rex Ericson in the Mennonite Church, Trenton Twp, Henry County, Iowa To this marriage 12 children were born. Nellie lived on farms in the White Oak, Rome & Lockridge, Iowa area most of her life.
