Pheuy K. Baccam, 48, of Mount Pleasant died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at her home.
Born May 24, 1960, in Vientiane, Laos, she was the daughter of Theuang and Seuang Kavanh. On June 11, 1982, she married Keith Baccam in Keosauqua. The couple later moved to Mount Pleasant, where they have resided ever since.

She moved to the United States in 1979 and lived in Keosauqua, graduating from Van Buren High School.

Mrs. Baccam was a homemaker and was employed at Motorola/Celestica as a production technician for 15 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Survivors include her husband; her parents of Mount Pleasant; one son, Jeffrey Baccam; two daughters, Loraine and Emily Baccam, all of Mount Pleasant; seven sisters, Phuong Moungsouvanh of Quebec, Canada, and Phong Lo, Somboua Lovan, Huc Be, Khamphou Medina, Chom Kavanh, and Nhoth Myers, all of Iowa; and one brother, Bounloth Kavanh of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one brother.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Baccam will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Regan Stoops officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
