Kara Lynne Yaley Harvey, 42, of West Point died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born Jan. 26, 1966, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Donald John "Slug" and Bessie Yaley. She married Mike Holtkamp. On Aug. 5, 2006, she married Jerry Harvey in Danville.

Mrs. Harvey was a nurse. She worked in the IT department at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. She had previously worked at Burlington Medical Center, Mobile Health Services and Oncology Services, all in Burlington.

She was a 1984 graduate of Danville High School and a graduate of Mary Crest College in Davenport. She was a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul where she was a member of the choir and Altar and Rosary chairwoman. She was a member of Southeast Iowa Players and Daughters of Isabella, as well as Sweet Corn Festival chairwoman and Fall Fest chairwoman. She was a member and past president of Holy Trinity Music Boosters. She enjoyed music, sports and theater.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Brett Holtkamp and Theodore "TJ" Holtkamp both of West Point; one daughter, Taylor Holtkamp of West Point; three stepchildren, Travis Harvey, Ashley Harvey and Leah Harvey all of West Point; her mother, Bessie Fleming of Burlington; two brothers, Brian Yaley of Danville and Lawrence Elliott of Burlington; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. A Rosary will be at 3 p.m. and a Wake at 7 p.m. at the church.

The funeral for Mrs. Harvey will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James the Less Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove South Cemetery, rural Danville.

Memorials have been established for Holy Trinity Music Department and St. James the Less Catholic Church.
