Donald Nissen
Donald Avery Nissen, 53, of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at his residence.

Born July 5, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of Paul Avery and Donna Mae Branson Nissen. On Sept. 18, 2001, he married Jean Ann Hagar.

Mr. Nissen drove a taxi for many years and worked at McDonald's and the Children's State Hospital in California. He was a graduate of Canogua Park High School in Canogua Park, Calif.

Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Bill Graf of Lockridge; one brother, Richard Nissen of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Linda Wortman of Folsum, Calif.; two stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m., Tuesday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Nissen will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Faith Christian Outreach Church with the Rev. Monte Knudsen officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

A memorial has been established.
