E. LOUISE FRICKE

E. Louise Fricke, 81, of R. R. 1, Mt. Pleasant, died at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 1998, at Henry County Health Center.

She was born on June 22, 1916, at Mt. Pleasant, Ia., to Louis C. and Mary L. Williams Fricke.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1934 and from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1938. She attended University of Iowa and received her Master in Education degree from Western Illinois University at Macomb. She taught General Science and English at Wyman and Lockridge, Ia., and Oquawka, Ill., for six years.

She was elected County Superintendent of Henderson Co., Ill., and then was appointed Educational Assistant for the Department of Education for the State of Illinois, traveling the entire state for 22 years. After retiring, she moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1969.

She was a life-time member and served as an Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant, Founder's Chapter of T. T. T., Phi Beta Pi sorority, and Delta Kappa Gamma honor society.

Among survivors are a second cousin - Mrs. Ted [Dorothy] Huene, third cousins - Anne M. Weir and David Huene - both of Mt. Pleasant and Frederick Huene of Winfield, best friend, Blanche Galbraith, Oquawka, Ill., and close friends - Mrs. G. W. [Evalee] Mickey and Betty Arnold - both of Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will be held from Noon to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 1998, at Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. There will be no family visitation at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 1998, at First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. The casket will remain closed according to her wish.

Interment will be held on the family plot in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church.
