Mrs. J.O. Hall Services Held At Spring Run
Native of Tennessee Buried at Columbus City Cemetery,
Funeral services for Mrs. J.O. Hall who passed away early Sunday morning at Burlington Hospital were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Spring Run Evangelical United Brethren Church . Short services were held at 1:30 at the Barton Funeral Homes.
The Rev. George J. Roths pastor of the Spring Run Church and the Rev. Roger L. Crabtree, pastor of the Winfield Methodist church, had charge of the services.
Mrs. Rex Enke and Miss Frances Metzgar sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", and "Sometime We'll Understand", accompanied by Miss Mable Day.
Casket bearers were Fay Green, Noah Green, Ben Browning, Howard Greene, Herbert Hall, and Harold Hall. Flower attendants were Wanda Hall, Naomi Hull, Maxine Gable and Bonnie Gruver.
Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.
Nannie Caroline Greene, the daughter of Jesse and Jane Watenbarger Greene, was born February 16, 1875 at Telford, Tennessee. She had reached the age of 74 years 8 months and 14 days at the time of her death.
She came to Iowa at the age of 17, and was united in marriage to J.O. Hall on December 1899.
She was the youngest of 11 children. Her parents, four sisters and six brothers preceded her in death.
she is survived by her husband and many nephews and nieces.
She was a member of the Spring Run Chuch and of the Faith circle of the Winfield Methodist WSCS and an honorary member of the Spring Run Ladies Aid Society.
She joined the Spring Run Church early in her married life but from time to time had been a member of the Methodist Church.
