Mrs. Harold Honts Dies
Mrs. Harold Honts died on Saturday morning at Mercy Hospital at Iowa City. She had been a patient there since last Monday, having been transferred there from Memorial Hospital at Mt. Pleasant. She had been ill for several weeks.
She was 53 years old.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. C, E. Chandler officiating. Larry Youngman sang at the services aaccompanned by Mrs. Keith Crawford at the organ.
Interment was in Winfield Scott Township Cemetery in chage of Barton McKasson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were E. R. Logan, Carl Wiley, W.L. Cecil, Roy Manson, Irvin Beauchanp and George Kepper.
Mrs. Honts was born November 4, 1904 at Madelia Minn. She was the daughter of M.J. and Bridget Keegan. and was chistened Sarah.
She was married to Harold Honts of Winfield January 31, 1924. She is survived by her husband a daughter, Mrs. Doris Conard a son James Honts and two grandchildren all of Winfield; two brothers Harold Keegan and Ronald Keegan both of Janesville, Wis. and several nephews and nieces.
Her parents two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Sadie as Mrs Honts was known by everyone here had been an operator at the local office of the Iowa-Illinois Telephone Company for 15 years. She was well known by telephone users for courteous cooperation and understanding, cheerful beyond the call of duty. Business places were closed from two o'clock until three Monday afternoon during the funeral services for her.
