Roy P. Honts, 87, a former resident of Winfield, died early Sunday morning, April 21, 1985 at the Elm View Care Center at Burlington.
The son of Harry and Myrtle (Hupp) Honts, he was born July 9, 1897 at Wapello, Iowa.
On october 15, 1923, he married Myrtle Bennett at Washington (C, H., Ohio, who preceded him in death in 1944????).
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy House, Burlington, Iowa; Janet Gobble, Madison, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister Zuleika Schenk, Winfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Roy J., two brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services were held Monday, April 22, 1985 at 2 P.M. from the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. The Rev. John Maglott officiated. Arrangements were made by McKasson-Honts Funeral Home, Winfield, Iowa.
