Jacob Shopbell fell dead in the yard, at his home, in Iantha, at 6:30, Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Shopbell was in the house, getting supper, and Mr. Shopbell had gone out to take care of the chickens. Mrs. Shopbell stepped to the door to call her husband to supper, when she saw him lying on the ground, out in the yard. She ran to him, and found he was stone dead. Dr. Locker was summoned, at once, and he declared that death, which was instantaneous, came from heart trouble from which Mr. Shopbell had suffered for some time.
Funeral services were announced to be held at the Methodist Church in Iantha at 2:30 Friday afternoon, followed by interment in the Iantha cemetery in charge of the Humphrey Bros.

From Iowa Mr. Shopbell moved to Nebraska, and from there he came to Barton County, twenty seven years ago. He purchased a farm, in the north part of Nashville township, where he resided until about the first of last April. Having sold his farm, he moved to Iantha.
Mr. Shopbell is survived by his wife and by two children,. The latter are Mrs. Oliver Dlumm of Nashville township, and Mr. Fred Shopbell of Otis Orchard, Washington. His grandson, H.E. Shopbell of Kansas City was expected to come down from Kansas City to attend the funeral.
