Valda Mae Hamilton
NEW LONDON - Valda Mae Hamilton, 71, of New London, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Burlington Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Washington County to George and Jessie Austin Hammond. She married Lester Hamilton, Jan. 4, 1936 , in Mediapolis.

She was a member of the New London United Methodist Church.

Surviving: One daughter, Kay Overstreet, Duncanville, Texas; three sons, Robert Hamilton, Montezuma, Merlin Hamilton, Danville, and Kerry Hamilton, New London; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; one brother, Sydney Hammond, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Ruth Fletcher, Crawfordsville.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, New London United Methodist Church, the Rev. Herbert Gould; Trinity Cemetery.
