MAXINE HELPHREY FUNERAL IS HELD

Funeral services for Maxine Helphrey, Mount Union high school student, who died Friday, were held at the home of her parents Monday with a large number of friends and relatives attending.

The Rev. George H.Banith(sp) conducted the rites with Rev. J. Cochroan of Lockridge assisting. The floral rememberances were profusely beautiful.

Girls from the Mount Union school sang. Interment was at Forest Home cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with uncles of the deceased serving as pallbearers.

Anna Maxine Helphrey, daughter of Chester and Lela Helphrey, was born on May 24, 1920 in Canaan township, Henry county, Iowa and passed away to her eternal home on Friday, Jan. 11, 1935 ( aged 14 years, 7 months and 17 days.

She was a freshman in Mount Union high school at the time of her death. She was baptised in the Christian faith and thus became a preparatory member of the Canaan Methodist church.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, one brother, Don, her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Victor Lauer and her step grandfather, Chas. P. Scales. She also leaves two uncles, John and Art and one aunt Flora. All helped care for her during her illness. An Uncle, Howard, attended her in death.

She was deeply religious and always intelligently took part in her bedtime prayer. We feel that Maxine is with that Angel throng around the white throne.
