SEVENTY YEARS OF AGE

Had Been in Ill Health For Several Months - A Member of the G.A.R. - Resided in Henry County for over Thirty Years.

Another old veteran and member of the local G.A.R. post in the person of Mr. John Hamilton, more familiarly known as "Uncle John", answered the last call at 11 o'clock this morning after a brave fight. For several months the deceased gentleman had been in poor health and a few weeks ago his family realized that it was only a matter of a short time before he would be called to "The Great Beyond". The deceased man was born in Preble county, Ohio, on June 14, seventy years ago and had resided in this city for twenty-two years. Up to two years ago he was the janitor of the court house but was forced to resign in consequence of failing health. He enlisted in Warsaw, ILL. and was a member of Co. D. of the 178th Ilinois. He was a member of the local G.A.R. post and was always very active. To mourn his loss he leaves a widow, and two children, Mr. Tom Hamilton of this city, and Mrs. Sam Hayner of Hugo, Minn. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
