Guy E. Mathews

Guy E. Mathews, 63 year- old farmer and life resident of the Mt. Union-Mt. Pleasant area, died in Burlington hospital Feb. 28.

Mathews was born neat Mt. Union on Jan. 1, 1889, the son of Emerson J. and Alma Holland Mathews. For many years he played a prominent part in county and community affairs.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Maude Mathews; 2 daughters; Mrs. E. John Larson, Webster Groves, Mo., and Patricia Jean Mathews, at home, and 2 granddaughters.

Also surviving are 2 brothers, Milo and Perry Mathews, both of Mt. Pleasant.

Private services will be conducted by the Rev. S. E. Sterrett, at the Crane funeral home until Sunday noon.

Burial will be in Forest Home cemetery.
