Jesse Clark Linch

MT. PLEASANT - Jesse Clark Linch, 79, Mt. Pleasant, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in Swedish - American hospital , Rockford, Ill.

The son of Joseph Clark Linch and Ella Mae Mathews Linch, he was born June 3, 1898, near Mt. Pleasant. He served in the Army in World War I and married Mary Ann Thorington Jan. 7, 1920; she died July 10, 1975.

He formerly operated the Linch fruit farm near Pleasant Lawn, was a retired employee of the Mental Health Institute, and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving: son, Jesse, Madras, Ore.; three daughters, Wilma Schellhase, Des Moines, Lila Marsh, Rockford, Ill., and Irma Cooper, New London; brother, Lyle Linch, and sister, Helen Asher, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Beatty - Jennings funeral home, Dr. Robert Robinson. Military service, 2:15 p.m. funeral home lawn, after which the body will be cremated.
