Perry C. Mathews
MT. PLEASANT - Perry C. Mathews, 81, died early Sunday, Jan. 12, at his home northeast of here.
He was born Oct. 8, 1893, in Canaan township, Henry County, the son of Emerson and Alma Ellen Holland Mathews. He married Luella Nickolaus in Mt. Pleasant, May 6, 1918. He was a life resident of Pleasant Lawn, northeast of Mt. Pleasant; a veteran of both world wars, member of VFW, American Legion, Veterans of World War I and the Wesley United Methodist chapel.
Survivng: the wife; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Leu and Mrs. Phyllis Mallams, both of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Shirley Madden, Crawfordsville, Mrs. Ruth Bridges, Minden, Neb. and Mrs. Charlotte McClure, Des Plaines, Ill; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Milo, Mt. Union.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Crane-Ewart-Young Funeral home, Revs. Mark Hagy and Peter Siemens, Forest Home cemetery. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer society.
