Warren Wilkerson
Warren Wilkerson, 75, or rural Morning Sun, died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport.
Born Feb. 17 1923, near Mount Union, he was the son of Loba and Myrtle Hensleigh Wilkerson. On Dec. 14, 1941, he married Dorothy Carlson in Kahoka, Mo. She died October 15, 1992. He then married Deloris Cline on July 17, 1994.
Mr. Wilkerson was a graduate of Mount Union High School in Mount Union and was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a farmer.
He was a member of Winfield VFW Post and Winfield Church of Open Bible.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie McElhinney of Morning Sun and Karla Juntunen of Brookville, Ohio; two sons, Dick Wilkerson of Morning Sun and Randy Wilkerson of Mount Union; nine grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Judy Johnson and Jackie Whitaker, both of Oakville, and Barbara Wendt of Wilton; on stepson, Bill Cline of DeWitt; 13 step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Duane Wilkerson of Clifton Hills, Mo., and Ronald Wilkerson of Wapello; one sister, Wilma Goudie of Morning Sun; and close cousin, Glen Wilkerson of West Burlington.
Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. There will be no family visitation
The funeral for Mr. Wilkerson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Winfield Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Greg Carr and Charles Courtney officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan cemetery, west of Mount Union.
A memorial has been established.
