Sadie Obermeier

Sadie Louise Obermeier, 100, of 100 Care Circle, New London, died at 204 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Oct. 23, 1896, at New London, she was the daughter of William Frederick and Sophia Amelia Totemeier Obermeier.

During her lifetime, Ms. Obermeier had worked at New London Farmers Elevator, Elliott Chapel, William Swan Accounting Office in Mount Pleasant and H.J. Nugen Library in New London.

She was an 84-year member of New London Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, a 75-year member of Rebekah Lodge and a member of Chapter E.V. of P.E.O.

Survivors include one nephew, Ted Hayes of Pittsboro, N.C.; a great-niece; a great-nephew; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel in New London. There will be no family visitation.

The funeral for Miss Obermeier will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. David Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London.

A memorial has been established for H.J. Nugen Library of New London.
