Nathan Woodsmall

Nathan Allen Woodsmall, 19, 106 E. Wilson, New London, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, as the result of a car accident between Salem and Hillsboro on J20.

Born April 20, 1979, in Iowa City, he was the son of Roger and Amy Johnson Woodsmall.

Mr. Woodsmall was in the Army for a short time. He worked for AmeriHost Inn of Mount Pleasant.

He was a 1997 graduate of New London High School. He was a member of New London Christian Church. He loved to bowl, shoot pool, play basketball and go four-wheeling.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Roger and Marla Woodsmall of New London; his mother and stepfather, Amy and Steve Ellison of Burlington; his twin sister, Lisa Woodsmall of Dennison; his grandparents, Anna Woodsmall of Salem, Lydia Johnson of Oakville, Muriel Ellison of West Burlington, and Jim and Marguerite Jackson of New London; one stepbrother, Michael Giberson of New London; and two stepsisters, Jacey Moeller of West Burlington and Jessica Ellison of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two grandfathers.

Visitation will begin after noon Monday in Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Woodsmall will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Rod Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery in West Burlington.

A memorial has been established.
