Harold Farr

Harold T. Farr, 78, 902 S. Harrison, Mount Pleasant, died of an apparent heart attack at 3:34 a.m. Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Henry County Health Center.

Born Sept. 21, 1919, in Jefferson County, he was the son of Leslie W. and Sebyl M. Dodds Farr. On Sept. 23, 1942, he married Maxine B. Schadt in Kirksville, Mo.

Mr. Farr worked construction in Henry and Lee counties most of his life. He retired after 10 years with Cessford Construction Co.

He attended Fairfield schools and was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife; one son, William H. Farr of rural Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Virgil Farr of Dunedin, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one sister.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation. The body has been cremated.

A memorial service for Mr. Farr will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Weir Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert D. Cook officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, southeast of Mount Pleasant.

A memorial has been established for Henry County Health Center.
