Harry Boecker

Harry J. Boecker, 87, of New London, died of an apparent heart attack at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 1998, at Henry County Health Center, Mount Pleasant.

Born Aug. 10, 1910, near Fort Madison, he was the son of Henry J. and Theresa Dettmer Boecker. On Oct. 4, 1932, he married Maude M. Simmons at Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Boecker attended schools in Fort Madison and farmed most of his life north of Lowell.

He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Burlington.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Henry Boecker of Hillsboro and Bernard Boecker of rural New London; one daughter, Iva Snyder of New London; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Boecker and Earnest Boecker, both of Danville; and three sisters, Louise Martin of Morning Sun, Edith Haller of Nicholsville, Ky., and Mary Harris of Gordon, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

There will be no visitation or service. The body of Mr. Boecker has been cremated.

Burial of the cremains will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, at a later date.

Weir Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant, is in charge of arrangements.
