Lorraine Wasson

Lorraine A. Wasson, 84, of Mediapolis, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at Community Care of America at Mediapolis.

Born Sept. 21, 1912, at Pleasant Grove, he was the son of Roy and Minnie Wallman Wasson. He married Ruth Heater Dec. 25, 1937, at New London.

He was a 1931 graduate of Yarmouth High School. Mr. Wasson was a farmer and diesel mechanic for construction work at Bogue and Walker. He was a member of Yarmouth Community Church, Yarmouth Gun Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sharon Van Ness of Sperry; one son, Wayne Wasson of West Burlington; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel Watkins of Yarmouth, Ethel Conard of Des Moines, and Zella Fye of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Friends may call as they desire Friday, with the family receiving friends from 630 to 8 p.m. at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.

The funeral for Mr. Wasson will be 1030 a.m. Saturday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. Burial will follow at Shinar Cemetery at Pleasant Grove.

Memorials have been established for Yarmouth Community Church and Yarmouth Gun Club.
