ANOTHER PIONEER GONE TO REST
Albert P. Brown was born in the state of New York in 1843. In 1843 he with his parents moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa, where in 1863 he was united in marriage. With Miss Elizabeth Burge of New London, Iowa. In the fall of 1865 he with his wife came to New London in which vicinity he resided until his death which occurred December 23, 1922 at his home two and one-half miles southwest of New London. He leaves to mourn his departure a wife and four children, Thomas Brown, Mariah Martin, Elsie Wellington of near New London and Mrs. Maggie Calhoun of near Salem, Iowa, 18 grand-children and six great grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Ceclia R. Phillips of Independence, Mo., three brothers C. B. and J. J. Brown of Oskaloosa, Iowa and C. A. Brown of New London and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the Latter Day Saints church, four miles southwest of New London, December 26 at 1 o'clock, in charge of Rev. D. J. Williams pastor of the Latter Day Saints church of Burlington, Iowa. Six grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. (The New London Journal, New London, Iowa, January 4, 1923)
