Zola Swarts

Zola Irene Swarts, 89, of Winfield, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Washington County Hospital in Washington.

Born Jan. 29, 1912, 2 miles west of Swedesburg, she was the daughter of Roy and Fannie McPheron Seberg.

She married Edwin Saltzman on Nov. 20, 1932. He died Oct. 26, 1973.

She married Clone Swarts on April 25, 1981. He died March 29, 1989.

Mrs. Swarts was a graduate of Olds High School and Iowa Wesleyan College.

She taught elementary school before her retirement at the Wyman school.

She was a member of Winfield United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Edwin Saltzman Jr. of North Edwards, Calif., and Dennis Saltzman of Phoenix; one stepdaughter, Sandra Gade of Clarence; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Seberg of Mount Pleasant and Glen Seberg of Olds; and two sisters, Wanda Miller of Olds and Izyel Waterhouse of Las Vegas.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Swarts will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Beth Briggs officiating.

Burial will be in Finley Cemetery, near Wayland.

A memorial has been established.
