Nona Allen
Nona Maxine Allen, 79, of 2083 195th St., Mount Pleasant, died at 630 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 1996, at the Henry County Health Center.
Born Oct. 9, 1917, one mile west of Mount Union in Henry County, she was the daughter of Howard T. and Clara Routh Snyder. She married Thomas Dean Allen Aug. 15, 1937, in Mount Pleasant.
She was a 1935 graduate of Mount Union High School and helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Women, and the VFW Auxiliary in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Thomas of rural Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Marilyn Ridinger of Mount Pleasant, and Nona Lee of New London; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Black of Mount Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.
The funeral for Mrs. Allen will be 10 a.m. Monday at Weir Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Hary officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery south of Mount Union.
Memorials have been established for the Henry County Heart Fund and the Parkinson's Association.
