Carol Hamilton

Carol A. Hamilton, 53, of New London, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at her home.

Born Nov. 8, 1949, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Harry Jackson and Anna Flora Knapp Strickland. On Nov. 21, 1982, she married Kerry Hamilton in Montezuma.

Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker and worked in fashion and automotive sales. She attended Burlington High School and Bill Hill's College of Cosmetology. She was a member of the Danville Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, traveling and collected oil lamps.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, SuzAnn YaVonne Bryant of Donnellson; two sons, Ron A. Hamilton of Lomax, Ill., and Tod Reusch of Burlington; seven grandchildren, three sisters, Patricia Knapp of Ankeny, Harriett Strickland of Florida, and Angel Strickland of Mediapolis, and seven brothers, Jerry Strickland of Lebanon, Mo., Ron Strickland of Cherokee, Ernie Strickland of Kansas City, Mo., Harry Strickland of Salt Lake City, Utah, Denzil Strickland of Mediapolis, Marty Strickland of Wapello, and Reese Strickland of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Hamilton will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Danville Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Dison and Harry Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, Mount Union.

Memorials have been established for H2O and the Danville Baptist Church.
