Bettajane Pennebaker

Bettajane Ott Pennebaker, 75, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of rural Mount Union, died at 229 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 1998.

Born Oct. 29, 1922, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Harley and Margaret "Madge" Wilson Ott. On Aug. 30, 1941, she married Clarence Ralph "Penny" Pennebaker in Memphis, Mo. He died June 20, 1984.

Mrs. Pennebaker was a graduate of New London High School, New London. She and her husband farmed in Henry County.

She was a member of Good Times Club for several years. She was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include two cousins, Miriam Olson of Mount Pleasant and Verl Anderson of Winfield.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. today at Elliott Chapel, New London. There will be no family visitation.

The funeral for Mrs. Pennebaker will be at 1030 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Henstock officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union.

A memorial has been established to Bettajane Pennebaker Foundation.
