Harold Wallman

Harold George Wallman, 90, of Yarmouth, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at Integrated Health Service of Mediapolis.

Born Sept. 12, 1908, in Yarmouth, he was the son of George and Katherine Fye Wallman. On Nov. 29, 1933, he married Oma Mason in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Wallman was a graduate of Yarmouth High School and a lifelong farmer in Yarmouth.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, president of Yarmouth School Board, secretary of Methodist Church Sunday school for 15 years, all of Yarmouth, and was a lifetime member of the Des Moines County Cattlemen. He was an Old Threshers exhibitor and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodney C. Wallman of Yarmouth and I. Barry Wallman of Plymouth, Mich.; one daughter, Sharon Denise Cameron of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clinton Wallman of Mediapolis; and one sister, Laura Ruth Fortune of Morning Sun.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be after noon today at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Wallman will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Walter B. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union.

Memorials have been established to Yarmouth Community United Church of Christ and Danville Rescue Squad.
