Mrs. Fannie CARDEN Died At Winfield

Mrs. Fannie CARDEN, 92, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 1959 in her home in Winfield.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian church with Rev. C. E. Chandler officiating. Burial in Winfield Scott township cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. CARDEN was born Fannie DeLASHMUTT on September 5, 1867, in Des Moines county, the Daughter of T. L. and Ellen SHAW-DeLASHMUTT. She attended Burlington schools and graduated from high school in Burlington.

On November 18, 1891, she married William CARDEN of Winfield. MR. CARDEN, who was a state senator, died March 18, 1950.

Mrs. CARDEN was a member of the Winfield Presbyterian church for over 67 years, and taught Sunday school there many years. She was an honorary life member of the Foreign Mission board of Winfield Presbyterian Women's Organization, was a charter member of the Winfield PEO chapter and was a member of the Library board and the OES.

Surviving is an adopted daughter Thelma at home. Two sisters, two half-brothers and an infant son are dead.
