Leona C. McKelvey

NEW LONDON - Mrs. Leona C. McKelvey, 97, died in Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, March 14.

She was born Aug. 21, 1883, to William and Margaret Turnbull Milligan in Clay County, Kan., where she married Samuel McKelvey June 21, 1904; he died Dec. 16, 1968.

Mrs. McKelvey was a member of the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church of Morning Sun.

Surviving: three sons, Henry, Atascadero, Calif., Alfred, Brookfield, Ill., and Luther, New London; four daughters; Ines Brown, Aurora, Colo., Dorothy Lahman, Clarksville, Lema Crist, Muscatine, and Gladys Schulz, Burlington; brother, Everett Milligan, Richland; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sharon Church, the Rev. Randal D. Van Osdol; Sharon Cemetery. Elliot Chapel is in charge.
