Canby, Ore. - Iowa native Paul S. Leichty, 80, Canby, died Monday, March 9, at Williamette Falls Hospital after a heart attack.

He was born Jan. 16, 1901, at Noble, Iowa, to John K. and Sarah Leichty. He married Eda Conrad Dec. 14, 1922.

He lived in the Iowa communities of Wayland and Winfield before moving to Oregon in 1969.

Surviving: his wife; a son, Donald, Canby; four daughters, Mary Ruth, Canby, Mrs. Charles(Helen)Odell, Oregon City; Mrs. H.D.(Dorothy)Pforts, Washington, Iowa, and Mrs. Eugene(Kathryn)Fleenor, West Burlington, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Memorial rites were March 13 at Smyrna United Church of Christ, Canby, inurnment in Smyrna Cemetery.
