George Kracht

George Wendell Kracht, 89, of 1501 Agency St., Burlington, died at 430 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 1996, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born June 21, 1907, in Newman, Ill., he was the son of John F. and Frances Mae Redman Kracht. He married Ellen E. Bliss on Aug. 17, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Kracht served in the Illinois National Guard and also was in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a bottler for Gustafson Brothers Dairy.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Teamsters Local 218.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth Kracht of New London and Robert Kracht of Danville; five grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, one son, four brothers and one sister.

There will be no formal visitation.

The funeral for Mr. Kracht will be 1030 a.m. Tuesday in Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Harry Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
