Ellenor Caroline Gregg Copelin, 89, of Salem, died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Jan. 24, 1907, in Augusta, she was the daughter of Arch F. and Margaret Mullahy Gregg. She married Charles K. Copelin on April 25, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Nov. 13, 1994.

Mrs. Copelin was a graduate of Danville High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She worked as a night supervisor at Henry County Memorial Hospital for many years.

She was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include three sons, Leon Copelin of Cathedral City, Calif., Robert Jones Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Edmund Copelin of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Ellen Harris of Sperry, Elizabeth Underwood of Marion and Kathleen Pastula of Shingle Springs, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marjorie Storrer of Norco, Calif., and Mary Pidkowitz of Riverside, Calif.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one grandchild and one brother.

Friends may call after noon Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 630 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Copelin will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery, Danville.

A memorial has been established for St. John's Catholic Church.
