Florence Castrodale
Florence Louise Castrodale, 95, of Mount Pleasant, died at 1:16 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born Nov. 22, 1909, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., she was the daughter of Nelson and Anna Cenate Trombley. On Sept. 10, 1928, she married the Rev. Elmer L. Castrodale in Wheaton, Ill. He died July 1, 1997.
Mrs. Castrodale was a housewife and mother. She assisted her husband in the ministry while serving churches in various locations including Marne, New London, Harbor Creek, Pa., Hoopeston, Ill., Danvers, Ill., Minneapolis, Carthage, Ill., and Alexis, Ill.
She received her high school education in Washington, D.C., and later graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant and the Presbyterian Women's Organization.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. David B. Castrodale of Keokuk, James L. Castrodale of Montrose, Colo., and Paul A. Castrodale of Coon Rapids, Minn.; one daughter, Mary L. Castrodale of Galesburg, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son and six brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Castrodale will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jerry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Moody Bible Institute and First Presbyterian Church of Mount Pleasant.
