Kenneth Stagers
Kenneth Lee Stagers, 57, of Mount Pleasant, died at 2:35 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born Jan. 1, 1948, in Washington, he was the son of Robert L. and Merea Mowery Stagers. In 1967, he married Mary Lou Jones in Washington and they later divorced. On Feb. 5, 1987, he married Diana Irene Woodsmall in Mount Pleasant.
Mr. Stagers was a driver for Schwann's Ice Cream Co., worked as a supervisor for Heatilator Corp. in Mount Pleasant, worked for GE Burlington, then became a shift manager for Hardee's in Mount Pleasant.
He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Mount Pleasant. He loved hunting, especially deer and rabbit, and fishing, especially for catfish at Oakland Mills.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kevin Stagers of Lockridge, Keith Stagers of Washington and Greg Parker of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Brenda Williams of Lockridge and Valerie Parker of Mount Pleasant; his grandmother, Minnie Mowery of Mount Pleasant; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandmother, both grandfathers and one sister.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.
A graveside service for Mr. Stagers will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Burge Cemetery in New London, with Pastor Kenneth Smith of the Church of the Nazarene in Mount Pleasant officiating.
