Lois Delaney Miller
Lois Mae Delaney Miller, 80, of New London, died on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at her son's home in New London.
Born May 22, 1926, in Dubuque, she was the daughter of Louis Jubert and Melita Lukins Chase. On Aug. 8, 1970, she married Walter E. Miller, Jr., in Las Vegas. He died April 8, 1989.
She worked for GAF/Ozalid Corp. in La Habra, Calif., until her retirement in 1988. She returned to Iowa in 1989.
She attended New London Presbyterian Church. She was an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan and enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye sporting events. She enjoyed riding her bicycle, swimming, flower gardening, garage sales, music and reading her Bible.
Survivors include three sons, James Delaney and Daniel Delaney, both of New London, and Dennis Delaney of Bullhead City, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. on Monday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The funeral for Mrs. Miller will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Sue Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in the Burge Cemetery in New London.
Dan and DeEtte Delaney will host family and friends following the services, in New London.
A memorial has been established.
