Fern N. Lee, 96, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born March 11, 1910, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of Frank H. and Blondeen Wells Short. On June 26, 1928, she married Ralph W. Lee in Burlington. They were later divorced.
She graduated from Mount Union High School in 1926. She was a cook in the New London School District for many years, working also for the Mental Health Institution and the PEO Home, both of Mount Pleasant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Happy Times Club. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Myers of Mount Pleasant and Marlys Thomas of MacClenny, Fla.; one son, Ron Lee of Roosevelt, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and one sister.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Friday at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Edward Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London.
Memorials have been established for the First United Methodist Church or Pleasant Manor Care Center.
