DEATH OF JOE ABRAHAM

Fine Young Man of Jackson Twp Victim of Pneumonia.
Had Been Sick for Four Weeks, but Recovery Seemed Assured. Father is Now in South America.
Funeral Friday Afternoon.

Mt. Pleasant and vicinity was shocked this morning to learn that Mr. Joe Abraham, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Abraham of Jackson township, passed away at his home about nine o’clock last evening from pneumonia.

About four weeks ago the young man was taken with the influenza and later pneumonia developed. He was very sick with the latter but during the last two days seemed to be winning the battle and Wednesday afternoon seemed so much better that his recovery seemed practically assured. His physician was with him late in the afternoon and was so sure of his recovery that he allowed his patient to be bolstered up on pillows and to eat a little.

However, a little after eight o’clock in the evening he was taken worse and before anything could be done had passed away. His death came as a dreadful shock to all of his relatives and acquaintances who were fully assured of his recovery.

Joe Abraham was twenty-three years old, unmarried and the younger of the two sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Abraham, and lived on the home place, running his father’s fine farm. His father, Mr. John Abraham, is now on a tour of South America and according to his schedule, is supposed to have sailed from Buenos Airies and is on the high seas on his way to New York and is expected to arrive about April first. It is not known what steamer he is on, nor is it certain that he is traveling on his schedule, so that it is impossible to inform him of the death of his son.

The young man leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother and brother, Fred who is married. Also his grandfather, Capt. Lot Abraham, who is prostrated over the death of his grandson.

The young man was well known all over Henry County and was a credit to the Abraham family which is one of the best of the community. The sympathy of all will be extended to the family in their great sorrow.

The funeral of Mr. Abraham will take place tomorrow, Friday, afternoon, from the family residence and the interment will be in the Abraham cemetery.
